Donbas Universities: Life in Emigration

Today the Ukrainian Crisis Media Center has conducted a press-briefing on the subject “Donbas Universities: Life in Emigration”.

Press-briefing is a pilot project of UCMC “Speaker of Peaceful Life”. The Ukrainian Crisis Media Center was created in March 2014 by leading Ukrainian experts in international relations, communications and public relations. “The main task of the UCMC is to provide the citizens of Ukraine and world society with the objective information on Ukraine and the events around it, dangers of national safety, in particular, in military, political, economical, power and humanitarian fields”, – explained the websites of the center.

The UCMC combines the informational flows on Ukraine; increases the awareness on situation and events in Ukraine and over the world, creates the image of Ukraine at the international scene.

The UCMC supports all media which cover the events in Ukraine.

Press-center of the UCMC is a unique platform that allows public activists, experts, politicians and power representatives to present the information on events and processes happen in Ukraine and around it.

Every day the Ukrainian Crisis Media Center conducts briefings to presents the most complete and objective information on situation in Ukraine. Today, within the pilot project “Speaker of Peaceful Life” it discussed the subject related to Donbas universities under the conditions of evacuation. The journalists communicated via Skype with the representatives of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University and Donetsk National University.

Our university was represented by the Pro-Rectors for Scientific and Pedagogical Work Dmytro Uzhchenko and Oleksandr Babychev. Donetsk National University was represented by its Rector Roman Hryniuk (Watch video).

The journalists were interested in the following subjects: organization of education process under evacuation; complications the universities has met; the issues of international cooperation and assistance of foreign donors. The most important question was the one concerning the communication with the teachers and students of those educational establishments that function at the territory beyond the control of Ukraine.

Project “Speaker of Peaceful Life” supposes such press-briefings in future as well.
