Star Dance Contest

Star Dance Contest has been conducted at the Institute of Culture and Arts of LNU.

Star Dance Contest was organized by the students and young creative teachers of the Department of Choreography D. O. Fomin and I. Yu. Yefremov. The contest was conducted on November 23 at Poltava University of Economy and Business where the Institute of Culture and Arts of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University is located now.

Not only future choreographers but the students of Cinema and TV Art, Culturology, Fine Art and Professional Skill participated in the contest. Everyone who likes, can and wants dancing – the participant list included more than 15 persons.

The contest had three nominations:

• folk choreography,
• folk stylization,
• modern choreography (jazz, jazz-funk, contempt).

“The idea of contest in such unusual intermundane and fantastic entourage started up in one moment and easily sprang to life, – told the teacher of modern dance D. O. Fomin. – We decided that the scenario should be proper for the title. That is why the participants presented their own planets and universes instead of departments.”

Star Dance has been called a contest, it had a jury, nominations and the winners (as it always has been, choreographers are the best). But indeed it was a real holiday. The holiday of dance and music. Everyone – the participants, viewers, teachers and university administration enjoyed it very much because the dance is always a holiday even if it goes after a hard work.
