Regional Basketball Tournament

The BC “Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University” became the winner of the Regional Basketball Tournament 5×5.

On November 27, 2021, the Regional Opening Cup of the Basketball Season 5×5 took place in the Starobilsk city territorial community. Competitions were held at the children’s and youth sports school.

The Cup of the Region began with a welcoming speech of the head of the Department of Youth and Sports of the Starobilsk City Council Oleksii Poluliaschenko and the director of the Youth Sports Club “Orliaˮ Svitlana Prikhodko. Four teams from Starobilsk and one team from Lysychansk were represented. The players played in a round robin system.

During the competition at 16:00, all the participants joined the nationwide minute of silence on the Holodomor Victims Remembrance Day. 

Our guys played four games and won four victories, without defeat became the owner of the Regional Basketball Cup 5×5.

The second place was taken by the team “Elevator”.

The third place was taken by the team “Lysychansk”, but the guys worthily passed their victory to the team of DYUK “Orlia”.

Basketball players were awarded with cups, medals and valuable gifts.

The team of BC “Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University” received an excellent branded bag for balls.

The player of the BC “Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University” Oleksandr Kulachko, a student of the Faculty of Natural Sciences, became the best player in the Regional Cup. The players Vitalii Kondratenko and Yaroslav Nagrebelnyi also had high performance and brought the team another victory!
