Action “Light a Memory Candle”

The Educational and Research Institute of Culture and Arts  joined the commemoration of the Holodomor victims.

On November 27, the Educational and Research Institute of Culture and Arts joined in the commemoration of the Holodomor victims.

In 2006, on November 28, Ukraine adopted a law recognizing the Holodomor of 1932-1933 as genocide of the Ukrainian people. Every year, on the fourth Saturday of November, Ukrainians mark Holodomor Remembrance Day. 88 years have passed since the worst famine of 1932-1933 and 100 years since the beginning of the Holodomor of 1921-1923.

On the pages of the ER ICA on Instagram and on Facebook on November 25-26, information about the recognition of the Holodomor as genocide, a link to the Holodomor Museum for independent acquaintance with it, information about the reflection of the Holodomor in art, a video about the impact of the Holodomor on Ukrainians today, artificial famine of 1921-1923.

On the evening of November 27, education applicants and teachers of the Educational and Research Institute of Culture and Arts joined the nationwide action “Light a Memory Candle”, honoring the memory of those killed in the three Holodomors, who claimed the lives of millions of Ukrainians by lighting candles on their windowsills.
