ACF Helps Students
1.12.2015
International Humanitarian Organization ACF has helped the displaced students of LNU.
ACF’s mission is to save the vital functions during and after natural disasters and armed conflicts. The organization is based on a comprehensive approach and includes various aspects:
- feeding practices, health and health care;
- food security and livelihoods;
- water, sanitation and hygiene;
- promotion of healthy eating and awareness.
In Ukraine, due to the many technical possibilities, ASF will monitor and keep the required level of eating and psycho-social status of the victims by improving access to basic food, hygiene products and quality water as well as through the providing psychological support.
Also, the organization pays special attention to the problems displaced students meet with because they are often forgotten about or did not pay enough attention because of more vulnerable people.
So, in October, the head of product supply of the International Humanitarian Organization ACF Volodymyr Kozlov gave the students a grocery voucher that can be used to buy food (in a cost of 450 UAH) and hygiene products (in a cost of 240 UAH). Due to technical difficulties and delays of help, students got a two-month rate at a time that means the balance of the voucher was 1380 UAH.
Displaced students can make a purchase only in the supermarket “Velyka Kyshenia” in Sievierodonetsk. That is why the university organized a trip to the regional center the students were able to buy all necessary food and hygiene products via the voucher. So 11 students performed their buying.
There will be one more trip to the supermarket in December after obtaining financial aid.
