Training session. The first day

Within the Project, a training session for pedagogical (scientific and pedagogical) employees of educational institutions began.
From November 16 to 20, 2021, within the project “Intensification of Influence of Teachers of Luhansk Region on Processes of Reconciliation and Peace-Building” a training program is being conducted to improve teaching skills (for pedagogical (scientific and pedagogical) employees of educational institutions. The event was attended by teachers from the Luhansk region (Zolote, Svatove, Severodonetsk, Kreminna, Rubizhne, Starobilsk; settlement of Milove and Novoaidar).
At the beginning, the head of the Project, Vitalii Kurylo, addressed the audience with a welcoming speech, where he noted that teachers are a driving force and he hopes for further cooperation. He informed the audience in detail about the Project and the role of teachers in it: “Our task is to find active modern teachers who will become the backbone of our university in the territories of Luhansk and Donetsk regions”.
Expectations, impressions and hopes from the Project were collected by the Candidate of Sociological Sciences, Associate Professor Kateryna Kotelenets. She developed a questionnaire, according to the results of which the work of the training will be improved.
The topic of the first day of the training was “Peaceful Resolution of Conflicts and the Foundations of Peace-Building Initiatives”. The trainer was Natalia Lytvynova, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Social Pedagogy, certified trainer.
During the day, those present actively performed the exercises indicated in the Program, among which it was envisaged to consider both theoretical and practical issues: brainstorming “Do no harm”; exercises “Drawing competition”, “Human-friendly community”, “Child-friendly community / school: success criteria”, “Chain”; tasks “Create a structure of actions for your own programs”.
The training participants learned the theoretical foundations of local potential for peace, community vulnerability factors (disconnectors) and community strengths / resources (unifiers). They considered a mini-presentation, where they explained the characteristics of a human-friendly community.
The first day of the training session ended with a summary, planning for the next day and a friendly dinner.
