Participation in non-conference

The higher education applicants of the Faculty of Ukrainian Philology and Social Communications took part in the non-conference.

On October 28-30, higher education applicants of the Faculty of Ukrainian Philology and Social Communications attended a non-conference entitled “The Future – Through the Eyes of Youth”. The event was organized by the “Effective Community” within the framework of the “POWER” program (Unity through joint actions of youth) and became the actual result of this program.

A non-conference is a format of meetings in which the participants themselves decide what will happen (the name contains the opposition to traditional conferences). Therefore, all the participants in the event influenced what was happening and from each one could learn something valuable. Several small groups interacted in parallel, where everyone could choose an interesting topic and be active in it. The following topics were discussed at the non-conference:

  • What is “peace” in my understanding.
  • How to achieve peace in the family / team.
  • How to achieve peace for Ukraine.
  • What needs to be done for world peace.

For example, in order to achieve peace in the family, the participants offered a fair distribution of responsibilities, trust in each other, mutual understanding and help. For peace in Ukraine, they proposed the development of diplomatic relations between neighboring countries, people’s confidence in the authorities, and an increase in people’s living standards. For world peace, young people considered the best methods – equality in all aspects of life, public resources for all countries, peaceful resolution of all conflicts, and more. All thoughts were drawn by the participants in the form of posters with illustrations.

Thanks to the organizers for an interesting experience!
