27.10.2021
The higher education applicants of the FFL took part in a training seminar on academic integrity.
Applicants for higher education of the Faculty of Foreign Languages took part in the training seminar “Academic integrity in educational institutions”, which was conducted by Tatiana Ulanovskaya, head teacher of the School of Academic Integrity of the State Institution “Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University”, bibliographer of the first category of the library.
Within a few days, applicants for education of the Department of Romance and Germanic Philology, the Department of Oriental Languages and the Department of World Literature and Russian Linguistics attended a training and held a workshop on academic good-wordedness. During the training seminar, questions about the originality of the text, plagiarism and ways to avoid it were considered with the prospect of writing scientific papers of a high level of uniqueness and individuality by the participants of the seminar. The need for this event is to familiarize young people who will write term papers, master’s projects, theses and articles with the requirements of writing and design of scientific papers. Madam Ulanovskaya emphasized the need for honesty and respect for other scientists when working with materials. And she shared with the audience examples of anti-plagiarism systems that are effective and accessible to everyone. This is an especially important experience for young scientists before the IX All-Ukrainian Scientific and Practical Conference of Applicants for Education, which will be held on November 19, 2021 at the Department of Romance and Germanic Philology.
At the end of the training seminar, all applicants for education received certificates confirming the course they attended.
Thus, the level of awareness of young people about the responsibility for fraud and violation of academic integrity, the importance of focusing on the originality of scientific texts, as well as ways to avoid plagiarism has increased.
