Day of Defenders and Defenders of Ukraine

An event dedicated to the Day of Defenders of Ukraine was held at the Foreign Languages Department. 

The opening speech of the Dean of the Foreign Languages Department Svetlana Alexandrovna Shekhavtsova was the beginning of the event.  The dean congratulated the male teachers and students of the Department, expressed sincere wishes.  Elena Nikolaevna Bindas, Head of the Department of Romance and Germanic Philology, joined in the welcoming words.  Deputy Dean for Social and Humanitarian Work – Valeria Aleksandrovna Shkarlet emphasized the importance of a public holiday, its goals and traditions. 

The students of the faculty were invited to watch the Ukrainian full-length feature film “Cyborgs” directed by Akhtem Seitablaev based on the script by Natalia Vorozhbit about the defense of Donetsk airport during the war in Donbass.  The film is one of the winners of the 8th competitive selection of the State Film Agency and received state financial support for 50% of its cost – almost 24 million hryvnia. The dead soldiers were honored with a minute of silence at the event.
