Luhansk region has never seen such an event. After all, the military parade took place for the first time since independence, and therefore all the participants in the event were overwhelmed with feelings of pride for the Luhansk region and great respect for the Ukrainian army.
To the applause of local residents and guests, including foreign ones, soldiers of all military units that are now defending the Luhansk region in the JFO zone marched along the central street of Severodonetsk – Hvardiiskyi Prospekt.
The parade was opened by the 10th separate mountain-assault brigade “Edelweiss”, which during the execution of combat missions returned Novooleksandrivka and Katerynivka to full control of the Ukrainian authorities.
The 79th Separate Airborne Assault Brigade, the 24th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after King Daniel, the consolidated unit of the 57th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade named after Koshovy Ataman Kostya Gordienko, the 1st Separate Tank Seversk Brigade of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine the 2nd anti-aircraft missile regiment named after General-cornet Yurii Tiutiunnyk of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the 3rd border detachment named after the Hero of Ukraine Colonel Yevgenii Pikus and other military units.
According to the head of the Luhansk Regional Military-Civil Administration Serhii Haidai, about 1,100 servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the National Guard, the State Border Service, the National Police and the DSSN took part in the parade. Also, military equipment drove by.
The parade was led by the commander of the operational-tactical group “Sever”, Colonel Dmytro Krasylnikov and his deputy for moral and psychological support, Colonel Yaroslav Pistun. They are not only the defenders of Ukraine, but also real friends of the University, who led the delegation from the military at the celebration of the 100th anniversary.
After the parade, an exhibition of modern military equipment was held near the Ice Sports Palace, and in the palace itself, an exhibition of photographs from everyday combat days of defenders and defendresses of the Fatherland.
The exposition from Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University “The University and the Armed Forces of Ukraine are united” was presented at the place of honor at the photo exhibition, which demonstrated the best moments of the University’s interaction with military personnel participating in hostilities for 7 years of movement. The exhibition was prepared by the Educational and Research Institute of Pedagogy and Psychology and the Center for Information Technologies of the University together with the military personnel of the OTG “North”.
Thus, Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University became a participant in the parade as a reliable partner of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in upholding the independence and sovereignty of Ukraine and honorably and on a large scale celebrated four national holidays – the Day of Defenders and Defendresses of Ukraine, the Day of the Protection of the Most Holy Theotokos, the Day of the Ukrainian Cossacks and the Day of the Foundation of the UPA.
