Celebrations dedicated to the Day of Defenders and Defendresses of Ukraine!

Celebrations dedicated to the Day of Defenders and Defendresses of Ukraine took place at Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University.

On October 14, the entire Ukrainian nation will spiritually unite together thanks to the triune holiday – the Day of the Defenders and Defendresses of Ukraine, the Day of the Ukrainian Cossacks and the holiday of the Protection of the Holy Virgin. This is the day of the continuity of the heroic traditions of our people, fortitude and courage, devotion to our country and pride in its military glory.

On the eve of the holiday, the university staff warmly greeted the servicemen, thanks to them for the feat that they do every day. So, all structural subdivisions prepared pleasant surprises for the defenders, for example, video congratulations with sincere wishes of good health, kindness, happiness, strength, unbreakable faith in victory.

The Faculty of Foreign Languages ​​honored the memory of the victims online by watching the Ukrainian film Cyborg.

At the Educational and Research Institute of Physics, Mathematics and Information Technologies, online communication with educational purposes took place, as well as hours of advisers with students.

The Educational and Research Institute of Physical Education and Sports held a volleyball tournament dedicated to this holiday; action fair “Gathering Warmth in the Heart”; hours of advisers, as well as the student-teaching staff watched the documentary “Cossack Glory to Live Through the Ages”.

The Faculty of Foreign Languages ​​honored the memory of the victims online by watching the Ukrainian film “Cyborg”.

The Educational and Research Institute of Physics, Mathematics and Information Technologies held the online communication with educational purposes as well as hours of advisers with applicants.

The Educational and Research Institute of Physical Education and Sports held a volleyball tournament dedicated to this holiday; action fair “Gathering Warmth in the Heart”; hours of advisers, as well as the students and teaching staff watched the documentary “Cossack Glory to Live Through the Ages”.

The Educational and Research Institute of History, International Relations and Socio-Political Sciences and the Educational and Research Institute of Physical Education and Sports conducted meetings with students and alumni-military personnel of our university.

The Educational and Research Institute of Economics and Business and the Educational and Research Institute of Physics, Mathematics and Information Technologies prepared addressed congratulations to military students.

The Professional College of the State Institution “Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National Universityˮ joined the All-Ukrainian online relay race of unity “We are Descendants of the Cossack Family”, as well as education applicants visited the monuments to the soldiers who gave their lives in the struggle for the independence of Ukraine. 

And this entire list was accompanied by numerous gifts and words of gratitude. After all, the exploits of defenders and defendresses are a great and majestic truth of history. This is an example of real, effective patriotism for every honest person and conscientious citizen.

On October 13, 2021, university staff and students congratulated the servicemen with a solemn event.

The chairman of the Academic Council, Vitalii Kurylo, addressed the audience with a welcoming speech, where he noted that four holidays are celebrated on October 14 – the Day of the Ukrainian Cossacks, the Day of the Protection of the Most Holy Theotokos, the Day of the Defenders and Defendresses of Ukraine, as well as the Day of the Ukrainian Army and wished everyone a peaceful sky, calmness in the country, good health, fortitude, prosperity in Luhansk region and Ukraine.

In the festive atmosphere, words of congratulations and wishes sounded, and concert performed by soloists of the Center for Culture and Leisure added enthusiasm and energy.

Dear defenders and defendresses of Ukraine, we sincerely congratulate you on the holiday! You firmly stand on the defense of the sovereignty, territorial integrity and inviolability of the state, peace and tranquility of our people. The comfort of our homes and the peace of mind of loved ones are in your reliable hands. Please accept our best congratulations with the wishes of peace, kindness, prosperity and success!
