Meeting of the Youth Club of Oriental Cultures

On September 8th the first meeting of the Youth Club of Oriental Cultures in new educational year took place.

The meeting was opened by the head of the department Fedicheva N.V. She informed freshmen and students of other courses about the history of the Department of Oriental Languages, about its main purpose, the vision and mission of the department. The information about the graduates of the department, who successfully work mostly as translators and teachers in Ukraine and abroad, was interesting for all present.

Also, said Fedicheva N.V., they try themselves in such a variety of guises as the commercial director of the Chinese state airline Air China, a translator at the Chinese Embassy in Ukraine, the Hub coordinator for the development of civil society. Some graduates are in the personnel reserve of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine for further diplomatic missions. Information on academic mobility was also important. Fedicheva N.V. told future orientalists about the opportunity to study, intern or conduct research in other institutions of higher education or research institutions in Ukraine or abroad, provided useful links. She also noted that the condition of academic mobility of teachers and students is one of the most important in the context of improving the quality of higher education and that a student who has the opportunity to train in another institution or participate in an international summer or winter school becomes a real subject of educational policy. Fedicheva N.V. stopped on the issue of observance of academic integrity and announced the master class that will be held on this issue. In the future, teachers of Oriental languages Podmarev O.O., Ovcharenko O.A., Borzova O.D., Kozub O.O. acquainted students with the plan of the meeting of the Youth Club of Oriental Cultures and said that representatives of other cultures, teachers and scientists will continue to be invited to the meeting, graduates of the faculty of different years as well as translators, writers, journalists. Teachers also reminded about the Magic Paints theater festival, which includes cultural humoresques, performances in oriental languages with the use of national costumes, musical accompaniment, dances and songs. At the end of the meeting, the floor was given to the guest, Chinese scientist Lee Wei Hua. She presented some interesting facts about the Chinese culture and said that she would take an active part in the сlub meeting in October. This meeting will be dedicated to the main national holiday of China – The founding of the People’s Republic of China (PRC).
