All-Ukrainian March for Animals Rights

Students of the Faculty of Natural Sciences have joined the All-Ukrainian March for Animals Rights.
The initiator of the event in Ukraine is the humanist movement UAnimals. This year, the All-Ukrainian March was held for the fifth time, simultaneously in 30 cities of Ukraine, as well as in Antarctica at the Akademik Vernadsky station.
The purpose of the event is to unite people around humanistic values and draw public attention to the urgent need to protect animals from cruelty.
Students of the Faculty of Natural Sciences went to the streets of Starobilsk with bright posters and leaflets that urge people to protect animals from cruelty.
It should be reminded some certain goals of animal protection, which were spelled out in the Memorandum by the participants of the first March:
- Clearly defining ownership of an animal and deprivation of such right as a result of abuse to ensure accountability.
- Assistance in the creation of a zoopoly and the introduction in Ukraine of an effective system of control and punishment for cruelty to animals.
- Banning the use of animals in circuses and dolphinariums.
- Prohibiting the exploitation of animals for begging and photography.
- Prohibition of the creation and operation of etching stations.
- Refusal to use live animals for experiments, etc.
- Development of animal rehabilitation and centers for keeping animals affected by humans and their activities.
- Legal opposition to the activities of fur farms and the development of the fur industry.
- Hindering the activities of dog hunters.
- Termination of programs of mass murder and euthanasia of stray animals in Ukrainian cities.
- Inclusion of elk and other wild animals of the natural range of Ukraine, which are on the verge of extinction, in the Red Book of Ukraine.
