On September 3, the Acting Rector Vitalii Kurylo took part in the live broadcast of the program “Important People” on the TV channel “Irta”.

In the interview, the chairman of the Academic Council spoke about the results of the admission campaign, the beginning of the new academic year 2021-2022, the upcoming elections of the rector and the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the university in Rubizhne city.

Vitalii Semenovych spoke in detail about the results of the admission campaign, which was quite difficult. According to him, the current student intake is larger than last year. In general, about 3000 students of all forms of study entered the university. “We recruit more students than other universities in Luhansk region. This is due to the high ranking, which is a combination of stability, quality of knowledge and 100-year historyˮ.

On September 01, together with the entire world community, the university celebrated the Knowledge Day. Concerning the celebration and the beginning of the educational process, Vitalii Semenovych noted: “At the moment we are trying to do as much as possible, because it is not known how the epidemiological situation will develop, therefore we are working actively and intensively”. Classes are held offline thanks to the consciousness of the teaching staff, which has already been vaccinated by almost 70%. In the event of the spread of COVID-19, the university will confidently be able to switch to distance learning. “Distance learning is not a problem for us, because since 2014, when we left Luhansk city in a hurry, it has been actively introduced into the educational process. For us, last year’s events did not have any catastrophic meaning, because teachers and students already knew how to work on a certain platformˮ.

In his conversation, Vitalii Semenovych announced that the university is on the verge of significant events – a partial move to the city of Rubizhne, the election of the Rector and the celebration of the anniversary from the Foundation Day. On September 23, every university member will contribute to the future of Alma Mater – to elect a manager. “There is one candidate for this position – Director of the Institute of Pedagogy and Psychology, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor Olena Karaman. She is an administrative scientist who is known and respected. Olena Leonidivna devoted her whole life to the university, so I think that the team will support herˮ.

Regarding the partial relocation to Rubizhne, the chairman of the Academic Council noted: “Now preparatory work is underway to transfer some structures to this city. This is a rather complicated process that takes time and resourcesˮ.

During the broadcast, Vitalii Semenovych also spoke about the celebration of the university anniversary, where he noted that all the celebrations would be held in Rubizhne city. This choice is due to the best logistics and the large size of the Palace of Culture, because no one forgets about quarantine norms.
