Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University and Starobilsk Lyceum No. 1 have published a joint Scientific and Methodological Almanac “Developing a Personality”.

Cooperation between the university, in particular the Educational and Research Institute of Pedagogy and Psychology, and the Starobilsk Lyceum No. 1 of the Starobelsk City Council of the Luhansk Region (Director is Kateryna Fomenko) has a long and strong tradition. Together, educational institutions organize and conduct conferences, experimental research; carry out training of teaching staff, professional development, etc. Recently, the Starobilsk Lyceum has become a partner of the university in the implementation of the EU project “Intensification of Influence of Teachers of Luhansk Region on the Processes of Reconciliation and Peace-Building”.

A new result of the joint activities of the Educational and Research Institute of Pedagogy and Psychology and the Lyceum was the publication of the Scientific and Methodological Almanac “Developing a Personality”. This release was timed to coincide with the Knowledge Day.

The Scientific and Methodological Almanac “Developing a Personality” was founded in the middle of 2000. The Rector of the University, editor-in-chief Vitalii Kurylo together with the Director of the Starobilsk Lyceum No. 1 (until 2021 – the Starobilsk Gymnasium) Kateryna Fomenko as a general journal for publishing the results of scientific and pedagogical activities.

The journal was discontinued in 2014. And now it has been restored with the aim of generalizing seven years of experience on the problem of forming information and communicative competence of applicants for education in institutions of general secondary and higher education.

The Almanac represents the results of the regional research “Formation of information and communication competencies of rural gymnasium students in the global educational space”, which was carried out on the basis of the Starobilsk Gymnasium (from 2021 – Starobilsk Lyceum No. 1 of the Starobilsky City Council of the Luhansk region) during 2013-2020.

It also includes articles by teachers and graduate students of the Educational and Research Institute of Pedagogy and Psychology, who are exploring this problem.

The Almanac is intended for scientific and pedagogical workers, applicants for education of institutions of general secondary and higher education, graduate students, doctoral students, the public, all those who are interested in innovations in the field of education.
