Meeting with freshmen
2.9.2021
The Faculty of Foreign Languages held a solemn meeting with freshmen due to the celebration of the Knowledge Day.
The student intake of the 2021-2022 academic year is of particular importance for the faculty, because this academic year our university is celebrating its 100th anniversary. We are glad to note that the number of students this year is twice as much as last year.
At the meeting, Svitlana Shekhavtsova, the Dean of the Faculty of Foreign Languages congratulated the students, talked about the peculiarities of the departments, and shared interesting stories from her own life. Olena Bindas, Head of the Department of Romance and Germanic Philology, expressed her parting words and shared the secrets of teaching. Head of the Department of Theory and Practice of Translation Svitlana Perova spoke about the prospects of studying at this department, and also spoke about its structure. Natalia Fedicheva, head of the Department of Oriental Languages, shared her advice with students in their future student life. The Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs Liudmyla Ovcharova also congratulated the students on the start of their new educational path, provided information about the work of the dean’s office and set students up for training. Valeria Shkarlet, Deputy Dean for Social and Humanitarian Work, expressed her sincere wishes and told a little about what kind of active and creative events await each of the students. Thanks to the great support of the chairman of the Trade Union Organization Volodymyr Moroz, the event was fully provided with the necessary requisites.
The meeting continued with a festive video greeting from the student self-government team, as well as senior students, who every year express several holiday wishes and advice to freshmen.
The final part of the dedication was the presentation from the dean of the Faculty of Foreign Languages Svitlana Shekhavtsova to the first course of the small symbols of our university, colored icons, which, according to the tradition of our faculty, are spoken for good luck. The friendly atmosphere, positive students, friendly teachers and excellent mood allowed us to celebrate the dedication of freshmen at the highest level.
