ACCEPTANCE OF APPLICATIONS FOR PARTICIPATION IN A FREE TWO-YEAR PROGRAM

The international charitable organization “Consortium for the Improvement of Management Education in Ukraine” announces the acceptance of applications in the city of Starobilsk from children 13-15 aged to participate in the PROGRAM OF SMALL SCHOLARS FOR LEARNING THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE OF THE US EMBASSY IN UKRAINE (English Access Microscholarship Program, abbreviated Access).
Access provides an opportunity for pupils from low-income and socially vulnerable families who do not know or have minimal knowledge of English to deepen their knowledge for free, learn more about the United States, its culture and values, develop leadership skills and take an active part in the development of Ukraine.
MINIMUM AGE TO PARTICIPATE: 13 years old
LOCATION: Classes will be conducted by experienced English language teachers on the basis of the information and cultural center “Window on America”, Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University (Starobilsk).
FINANCIAL SUPPORT: Access pays the entire cost of tuition, textbooks, and 5-day intensive classes for participants at the junior summer camp in June 2023.
CANDIDATES FOR THE PROGRAM MUST PROVIDE:
1) Identity card or birth certificate (copy).
2) Report card or school certificate with grades for the last academic year (copy).
The overall GPA in all subjects must be at least 8 out of 12. As for the school grade in English, it can be lower than 8 points: the main thing is the desire to study it!
3) A document confirming the low income of the child or his/her family (copy).
Such a document can be, for example, a certificate of a low-income person / family; an act of examination of material conditions, certified by representatives of the social protection authorities or an educational institution; identity card / family, which is in other difficult financial circumstances; a document on the appointment of material assistance or subsidies in connection with a difficult financial situation, etc. Low-income children from families of displaced persons, ATO participants, with disabilities, large and single-parent families are especially encouraged.
4) 2 photographs measuring 3 x 4 cm.
5) A short resume (a list of achievements and skills of the candidate for participation in the program, why the candidate wants to participate in the program) – not necessarily in English.
6) Letters of recommendation from the educational institution where the candidate is studying and the English teacher (if the candidate is studying this subject at his/her educational institution).

Deadline for submission of documents: September 30, 2021
After 01.10.2021, candidates for participation will be interviewed.
