Student exchange between universities
25.8.2021
Students of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University visited the city of Lviv.
Lviv is one of the most beautiful cities in Ukraine and Eastern Europe. This city of coffee, thousands of lions, jazz, rain, chocolate, terraces and millions of memorials. Each street seems to tell passers-by a centuries-old story and inspire romantic emotions. Its unrivaled atmosphere encourages every city dweller or tourist to enjoy life and dream of beauty.
Students of our university were able to fully experience these incredible impressions on a trip dedicated to the 100th anniversary of their native Alma Mater. From August 18 to August 22, 2021, an exchange of students took place with the aim of patriotic education under the slogan “East and West together!”.
The event was initiated by the Acting Rector Vitalii Kurylo, sponsored by a member of the Supervisory Council Serhii Lizanets. The Chairman of the Primary Trade Union Organization Volodymyr Moroz organized and accompanied the students.
24 representatives, headed by the chairman of the Student Self-Government of LTSNU Oleksandr Mironenko, conducted a rich and informative activity at the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv. Acquaintance with the Vice-Rector Volodymyr Kachmar, the chairman of the Primary Trade Union Organization Mykola Speresenko, the chairman of the Student Self-Government Oleksii Kalenichenko became decisive, because thanks to these people a memorandum of cooperation was signed between the trade union organizations of the HEEs.
For a detailed and vivid acquaintance, a presentation of universities took place. Oleksandr Mironenko told the audience about the student self-government of Alma Mater, its activities, awards and achievements.
Thanks to our friends from Lviv, students of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University went on excursions to a university with a 360-year history, Lviv Regional State Administration, a botanical garden and a scientific library. “The director of the library Vasyl Kmet immersed us in the history of Lviv with his lecture and told the history of the library step by step. We were able to see with our own eyes the book “Starodruk”, which was probably kept by the hetman Ivan Mazepa. Vasyl kindly showed us the most intimate corners of the library, accompanying it with very interesting stories. After immersion in history, we had to switch abruptly, because we had already come to the youth center “Molodvizh center”, where they told us in detail about the center and invited us to the event in September, – Oleksandr Mironenko shared his emotions.
The result of the meeting was a trip to the Solomiya Krushelnytska Lviv State Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet for the Concert of Ukrainian Music, dedicated to the 30th anniversary of Ukraine’s independence.
We sincerely thank our Lviv friends for the warm welcome, the organizers and initiators of this trip – for the incredible impressions and experience. We hope for further cooperation and look forward to our colleagues from the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv in our native Luhansk region!
