Participation in the International Scientific and Practical Conference

Lecturers and students of LNU Institute of Culture and Arts have participated in the International Research and Practical Conference “Sacrum et Profanum in the Culture”.

The conference was devoted to the problems of interactions between the inwardness and secular features in artistic, cultural and pedagogical fields. The event was organized at the premises of the Faculty of Culture and Arts of Ivan Franko National University of Lviv.

The list of participants included the researches from Ukraine, Austria, Belgium, Germany, Poland, Slovakia and the USA. Luhansk University was represented by the Head of Department of Choreography of ICA, Candidate of Philosophical Sciences Kateryna Irdynenko and the lecturer of this department Tetiana Vylkhovchenko, the forth-year student of speciality “Culturology” Liliia Udodenko and the forth-year student of speciality “Fine Art” Andrii Syvak.

Participation in such serious forum and a dialogue with famous national and foreign culture experts and art critics is a very special scientific event, – comments K. O. Irdynenko. – The conference was the ground for meeting with our colleagues from the Department of Direction and Choreography of Ivan Franko National University of Lviv. We have the old creative and scientific contacts with them. This year we have two magistrands from Lviv at our Department of Choreography. Both are the soloists of the Solomiia Krushelnytska National Academic Theater of Opera and Ballet: Viktoriia Zvarych and the Honoured Artist of Ukraine Oleh Petryk. It is nice that the representatives of such city full with artistic traditions have chosen our university. Of course, the Lvovians also have a lot we have to study. Four days in Lviv pleased us with meetings, discussions, master-classes and rehearsals.

The organizers managed to combine successfully the scientific and creative part of the event. All the guests had a chance to see the beauty sights of Lviv. Also the organizers demonstrated their own progress in choreography.

We were very warmly welcomed and had a chance not just to take part in the conference but to attend the classes on classical and folk dances, – T. I. Vylkhovchenko shares her impressions. – I was interested, first of all, in the classical dance lesson because I am an expert in classical dance. The lesson was very professional – the lecturer used to dance in Solomiia Krushelnytska Theater. I liked the concertmaster very much. But most of all I was impressed by the classes mood – informal, warm and creative. It seemed like lecturers and students felt like they were at home. The interesting fact is that the Department has its own choreographic team. It has performances not only in Ukraine but abroad – in Poland, for example. This proves the high level of lecturers and students.

The choreographers from Lviv and Luhansk have a lot in common: active involvement of talented young people to the teaching and research activities, enthusiasm, aiming for creative thinking and pursuit of the own style. So, the creative dialogue will go on.
