Cycle of art classes

A cycle of art classes for children and a support group for parents of the project “Help for Families Raising Children with Disabilities 2021” was held. 

Within the memorandum between the State Institution “Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University”, the Student Social Service and the Charity Foundation “Mercy-Luhansk”, the project “Help for Families Raising Children with Disabilities 2021” is being implemented with the financial support of Caritas Österreich.

So, recently a cycle of classes was held for various groups of children and support groups – their parents. The cycle of classes included three art-therapeutic creative techniques, the first of which was “Wood” – using caffre-paper, torn into pieces for convenience. Little activists individually decorated the tree as they wished. The next exercise was the “Aquarium”, which was created using appliqué details and supplemented with sea fish. The final exercise was the Monotype technique, where children painted on a smooth surface that does not absorb paint by transferring a large sheet of paint onto the whole surface, followed by using brushes and rags to remove paint and create a great image.

While volunteers worked with the children, the project psychologist worked with their parents. He used projective techniques, and the members of the support group, in turn, shared personal traditions and entertainment that inspire them in difficult times.
