20.7.2021
A meeting with a representative of the International Committee of the Red Cross took place at Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University.
Recently, the chairman of the Student Social Service Olena Dukhova and the head of the free space “Сoworking-center – Creative University” Anton Nazmiev met with the psychologist of the International Committee of the Red Cross Ivan Malyk. During the meeting, the program “Psychological Support for Persons of Pedagogical Professions” was discussed.
Every day, workers spend a lot of energy helping, listening, and sometimes this leads to the fact that their own needs are limited to meet the needs of others. Constant support over time can cause burnout, which in turn causes symptoms such as emotional discomfort, psychosomatic illnesses, inability to switch between activities, sleep problems, increased anxiety, depression, lethargy, and sensitivity to little work.
The program “Psychological Support for Persons of Pedagogical Professions” includes: help to cope with stressful situations, to acquire skills of psychological recovery and quick adaptation. Sessions are also divided into several meetings with university staff on topics: stress, a source of stress; stress response, coping strategy (stress management); exercises to relieve psycho-emotional stress; anxiety and depression: its signs; exercises for the formation of a resource state.
Since September, the implementation of the Program will begin and the work of teachers and university staff with an ICRC psychologist in the free space of the Coworking Center – Creative University.
