“Women. Peace. Security”

Activists of the ER IPP took part in the training “Women. Peace. Security”.
The training was held from 28.06 to 02.07 in the framework of the International project “Strengthening the Potential of Young Women from Target Communities of Donetsk and Luhansk Regions” (Severodonetsk city). According to the results of the competitive selection, students and staff members of the Institute of Pedagogy and Psychology Karyna Borysenko, Iryna Maslovska, Halyna Kulichenko, Anastasia Budnyk, Daria Anokhina were invited to participate in the event.
During the training, the participants deepened their understanding of the Women, Peace and Security Program and the Youth, Peace and Security agenda, as applied to the specific national context of Ukraine and its development phase; strengthened the understanding of the need to promote meaningful participation of women in all aspects and at all levels of peace and security processes in the specific national context of Ukraine; increased understanding of the specific protection needs of women and the role of prevention in eliminating violence against women, especially in conflict-affected scenarios; gained knowledge in understanding monitoring and evaluation and how to track the implementation of the “Women. Peace. Security” and “Youth. Peace. Safety” at the local level.
The project “Strengthening the Potential of Young Women from Target Communities of Donetsk and Luhansk Regions” to advance the agenda “Women. Peace. Security” (WPS) is being implemented by Internews Ukraine within the framework of the United Nations Program for Peace Recovery and Development, which is implemented by four UN agencies: United Nations Development Program (UNDP), United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women) , United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA); and the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO).
The program is supported by twelve international partners: the European Union (EU), the European Investment Bank (EIB), the US Embassy in Ukraine, and the governments of Denmark, Canada, the Netherlands, Germany, Norway, Poland, Switzerland, Sweden and Japan.
As a result of the training, participants who passed the main stages of training received certificates.
