University Administration Meeting

Today the University Administration meeting took place at Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University.

Four main issues were considered on the agenda:

• 1. On the implementation of the decisions of the University Academic Council for 2020 – 2021 academic year;
• 2. Competition issues;
• 3. On the approval of educational programs and curricula for 2021 – 2022 academic year;
• 4. Discussion and recommendation for approval of the work plan of the Academic Council for 2021 – 2022 academic year.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Acting Rector Vitalii Kurylo awarded university diplomas to higher education applicants for prizes in international, all-Ukrainian and regional competitions.

After hearing and discussing the report of the Academic Secretary on the implementation of the decisions of the University Academic Council for the 2020-2021 academic year, those present came to the conclusion that the work of the Academic Council for the 2020-2021 academic year is considered satisfactory.

During this period, 9 scheduled meetings were held, at which educational programs, curricula and lists of free choice disciplines for applicants of the first (bachelor’s) and second (master’s) levels for the 2021-2022 academic year were approved; scientific schools and a political-analytical center were created; two people were recommended for doctoral studies; doctoral students and scholarship holders of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine were certified, candidates were recommended for participation in the competition for personal scholarships; 88 scientific and educational-methodical works were approved for publication; topics of dissertations for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy and Doctor of Science were approved; regulations and other working documents were approved.

After hearing and discussing the report of the Vice-Rector for Scientific and Pedagogical Work Dmytro Uzhchenko on the competition issues, the Academic Council by open vote approved the candidacies of persons who ran for the posts of heads of departments. According to the results of a secret ballot, Yulia Gavriliuk was elected as the head of the Department of Gardening and Park Management and Ecology; Iryna Tsebrii – Head of the Department of Musical Art and Choreography; Serhii Shinkarev – Head of the Department of Olympic and Professional Sports; Svitlana Bader – Head of the Department of Preschool and Primary Education; Oksana Kleshova – Head of the Department of Ukrainian Language; Iryna Krokhmal – Head of the Department of Documentation and Information Activities. 

By the decision of the Academic Council, educational programs and curricula for 2021 – 2022 academic year were approved.

When discussing the work plan of the Academic Council for 2021 – 2022 academic year Vitalii Kurylo noted that the proposals of the members of the Academic Council were taken into account in the draft plan. Based on the results of an open vote, it was recommended to finalize it and submit it for approval at the August meeting.

Among various issues, scientific and scientific-methodical works were recommended for publication; the topics of dissertations for the degree of Doctor of Science and Doctor of Philosophy, provisions on separate structural divisions, on honorary awards and honorary titles were approved; changes were made to the procedures for ensuring the quality of education and the regulations governing educational activities at the university a decision was made to change the legal address of the university.
