LTSNU in the university ranking “Top-200 Ukraine 2021”

Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University took the 69th place in the university ranking “Top-200 Ukraine 2021”.

Despite the fact Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University is a relocated higher education institution, the results of its activities confirm that it is the center of education, science and culture not only in the Luhansk region, but throughout the entire eastern region of Ukraine. Working fruitfully for the benefit of education, university scientists develop science not only state, but also worldwide.

The Center for International Projects “Euroeducation” in partnership with the international group of experts IREG Observatory on Academic and Excellence has published the ranking of higher educational institutions of Ukraine “Top-200 Ukraine 2021”, in which Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University took the 69th place. Among the educational institutions of the Luhansk region – the first place.

This year, when forming the ranking table, the current trends in the development of Ukrainian and world higher education, which have undergone changes, have been taken into account, including due to the impact of the COVID-2019 pandemic.

The authors of the ranking note that they were guided by the principle of ensuring openness, transparency, objectivity and independence of the ranking. For this, only open data of direct measurements, posted on the websites of independent national and international organizations and institutions, were used.

In the ranking “Top-200 Ukraine 2021” priority is given to the European integration processes. In particular, the authors set the weights of international indicators of university performance (results in world rankings, participation of universities in the Erasmus + programs of the European Union, etc.) higher than the weights of national indicators.

In total, ten indicators for assessing the activities of universities were taken into account. Among them, the greatest weighting coefficients have academic, scientific and publishing and international activities, the assessment of research achievements through a comparison of university websites, the citation of scientific works of university scientists in high-ranking scientific publications, the quality of presentation and the popularity of the institution in the Internet space.
