Students of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University joined the webinar from the UN Refugee Agency in Ukraine.
On June 8, 2021, students and active youth of our university learned about internship and volunteer opportunities at the Agency within the framework of the webinar “Career Opportunities for Youth in the structure of the UN Refugee Agency in Ukraine”. This event took place on the initiative of the chairman of the Student Social Service of the Legal Department Olena Dukhova with the support of the leading specialist of the Career Development Center Olena Glushchenko.
The event had a rich program, because first the junior field adviser of the UN Refugee Agency in Ukraine Vera Shelest shared her successful story of how to rise from a volunteer to an adviser at the UN Refugee Agency in Ukraine. Sophia Strik, HR Specialist of the UN Refugee Agency in Ukraine, shared her experience of working in the UN system. Speakers talked about internship opportunities, modality of contracts in the UN system, basic requirements for the competition for the UN Refugee Agency in Ukraine, recommended how and where to start working in the structure of the Agency.
Alina Kovalenko, communications specialist of the UN Refugee Agency in Ukraine, explained to those present the concept of “online volunteer”, told how to become a volunteer of the UN Refugee Agency in Ukraine and abroad and what skills need to be developed in order to increase your chances for successful completion selection.
