Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University celebrates Vyshyvanka Day.

We are Ukrainians united in a big family thanks to love for our native land, songs, and embroidery. An embroidered Ukrainian shirt is not just clothes, it is a real talisman and a national shrine that awakens high patriotic feelings in the heart of every Ukrainian. It is designed to preserve the original folk traditions of creating and wearing ethnic embroidered Ukrainian clothing. 

Every year, the staff of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University gladly joins the celebration of this great holiday, holding traditional university-wide events.

The Center for Culture and Leisure held the challenge “Mom’s shirt”. The main condition for participation was to publish photo or video materials of mothers with children on social networks with the hashtag #maminasorochkaLNU. Vivid, colorful and sensual photos filled the social dimension as a huge number of participants joined the participation.

It is a good tradition of our Alma Mater to present embroidered shirts to newborn children of teachers and university staff. The first national amulet in life today was received by the kids of many structural subdivisions. The parents of the children were pleasantly surprised by this initiative of their colleagues and gladly accepted the national clothes from the teachers.

To add warmth and sensuality to this holiday, the campaign “Our destiny is embroidered” was held, where the structural subdivisions of the university created the publication of their family tree from the day of the creation of the educational subdivision with embroideries or photographs and displayed them on their official pages on social networks with the hashtag #долявишиванаЛНУ100.
