VYSHYVANKA WITH YOUR OWN HANDS

Today, Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University has chosen the best hand-made embroidered shirts.

On May 20, 2021, the results of the traditional university competition among teachers, education applicants, employees and all comers “VYSHYVANKA WITH YOUR OWN HANDS” were summed up at Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University.

The aim of the competition, dedicated to the 15th anniversary of the All-Ukrainian Vyshyvanka Day and the 100th anniversary of the founding of the University, is to preserve and use embroidery as a unique phenomenon of the cultural heritage of the Ukrainian people, to popularize traditional arts and crafts.

This year fifteen craftswomen took part in the competition. Each work is unique. They are made in a variety of techniques, using traditional and modern ornaments and patterns. We publish the works submitted to the jury and the results of the competition.
