Essay Competition Results

The Pedagogy Department held an essay competition “Our University” dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University.
On May 12, the results of the university-wide essay competition organized by the Pedagogy Department of the Educational and Research Institute of Pedagogy and Psychology in accordance with the plan of social and humanitarian work of the department were summed up. As one of the oldest departments of the university, the Pedagogy Department successfully fulfills its mission of forming a new generation and teachers of educational institutions of different levels, actively conducting educational, scientific, educative work with student youth.
The purpose of the essay competition is to stimulate the cognitive interest of higher education applicants in the history of their native university, to disseminate and popularize the values of the corporate culture of LTSNU, to develop the creative abilities of young people and to involve them in the celebration of the anniversary of their native Alma Mater.
More than 20 works were submitted for the competition; among the authors were applicants for higher education of the first (bachelor’s) level of Educational and Research Institutes of Pedagogy and Psychology; Physics, Mathematics and Information Technology; History, International Relations and Socio-Political Sciences and the Faculty of Natural Sciences. Evaluation was carried out according to the following criteria: 1) correspondence of the content of the essay to the competition subject; 2) the consistency of the author’s text, coherence, consistency, consistency of presentation, culture of writing; 3) knowledge of the university history; 4) creativity and originality of style; 5) non-standard approach to the design of work.
The jury members inlcuded the Associate Professors of the Pedagogy Department Iryna Pavlenko, Oksana Aleksieieva and Inna Kurlischuk. They emphasized the creative approach of the participants and deep knowledge of the history of their native university, a sincere desire to write their names on its glorious pages. Contestants illustrated their works with photographs from student life, prepared essays in the form of presentations and videos.
According to the results of the jury’s decision, the first place was taken by Anastasia Zemlianska (2nd year, specialty “Secondary Education. Geography”, FNS), the second place was shared by Kostiantyn Kiselov (2nd year, specialty “Secondary Education. Mathematics”, ER IPMIT) and Serhii Shchyrov ( 3rd year, specialty “Secondary Education. Physical Culture”, ER IPES), the third place was taken by Tetiana Logvinova (3rd year, specialty “Secondary Education. Biology”).
