Happy Day of Remembrance and Reconciliation and the 76th anniversary of the victory over Nazism!

Dear veterans, teachers, staff, students of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University! I sincerely congratulate you on the Day of Remembrance and Reconciliation and the 76th anniversary of the victory over Nazism in World War II.

76 years separate us from the moment when our grandfathers and grandmothers, together with the whole world, rejoiced at a great victory. The majestic feat of defenders and liberators remains an inexhaustible source of patriotism and an example of true service to their people.

Unfortunately, from year to year, there are fewer and fewer World War II veterans, and every Ukrainian should thank them for the peaceful sky overhead. We bow low to the feat of those who, at the cost of their own lives, showing heroism and courage, managed to save the world from Nazi enslavement. Their sincere love for their native land, the memory of glorious military exploits, endurance and fortitude during the difficult war years will forever remain in the hearts of their descendants as an unsurpassed example of true patriotism and nobility.

Greeting everyone who survived the fire of the war, as well as teachers, staff, students of our glorious Alma Mater, I wish you peace, unity, freedom, happiness, harmony and prosperity in every family. We remember and are proud of our people. Let everyone know that this is our victory. We won then – we will win now.
