The veterans were congratulated

Students and teaching staff of our university congratulated the veterans of the Second World War.

The Day of Remembrance and Reconciliation and the Victory Day over Nazism in World War II – these holidays symbolize the spiritual resilience and inflexibility of the Ukrainian people, evoke in everyone a sense of boundless pride for our people, bright joy and bitter despair at the same time. The duty of present generations is to honor the invaluable feat of veterans and preserve the memories of eyewitnesses of the terrible years for future generations.

Unfortunately, there are only 5 veterans left in the Starobilsk city territorial community. So, on the eve of the 76th anniversary of the victory over Nazism in World War II, on the initiative of the Student Social Service of LTSNU, with the support of the Primary Trade Union Organization, teachers and students congratulated the war veterans. Due to quarantine restrictions, the volunteers could not personally meet with the veterans, so they handed over postcards with congratulations from the Acting Rector Vitalii Kurylo and the chairman of the Primary Trade Union Organization Volodymyr Moroz, as well as food packages.

We are eternally indebted to the veterans for the youth cut short by the war, for the extraordinary courage, fortitude, self-sacrifice that they showed in the battles for their native land. Let’s take care of those who remain, help them and not forget about their deeds in the name of the Motherland.
