Participation in the International Conference

Teachers and students majoring in ecology of the Faculty of Natural Sciences took an active part in the International Scientific and Practical Conference.
On April 26, teachers and students majoring in ecology of the Department of Gardening and Ecology of the Faculty of Natural Sciences took an active part in the International Scientific and Practical Conference “The Chernobyl Disaster: Interdisciplinary Research”, dedicated to the 35th anniversary of the Chernobyl disaster, organized by the Department of Environmental Safety and Environmental Protection of the Viacheslav Chornovil Educational and Research Institute of Sustainable Development of the National University “Lviv Polytechnic” together with co-organizers and partners.
The venerable society of specialists, scientists and public figures were involved in the work of the conference.
The conference was divided into the following sections: “Environmental safety and environmental protection”; “Ecology and balanced use of natural resources”; “Tourism and the service sector”; “Civil Security”; “Technogenic safety”; “Program of educational activities on the culture of waste management and separate collection of solid waste in educational institutions of the Lviv TG “Clean City”.
Our students and teachers took part in the work of the section “Ecology and Sustainable Use of Natural Resources”. They presented theses on the topic “Analysis of pollution of water sources in the Luhansk region by mine waters” (Serhii Petrenko, Larysa Koroletska, Olena Bordiuhova, Kyryl Myroniuk). All the rest listened to informative reports of students, master’s students majoring in ecology of the Viacheslav Chornovil Educational and Research Institute of Sustainable Development of the National University “Lviv Polytechnic” on the issues of environmental pollution as a result of the explosion at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant and their consequences, which will remind of this terrible tragedy for centuries …
