At the Faculty of Natural Sciences, an open lecture was held on topical issues of ecology on the topic “Environmental Light Pollution”.
The lecturer was the Candidate of Biological Sciences, senior lecturer of the Department of Gardening and Park Economy and Ecology of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University – Mykyta Mykolaiovych Peregrym.
During the lecture, topical and little-known problems of the negative impact of light pollution on plants, animals and people were highlighted.
Mykyta Mykolaiovych made a meaningful interesting presentation with a parallel analysis of the latest foreign and personal scientific publications on the issues under study.
Teachers and education applicants showed interest in the topic of the lecture, asked the lecturer a number of questions: about the further consequences of environmental light pollution, its influence on certain groups of organisms and on the environment in general; what measures need to be taken to reduce the level of light pollution; which areas are most affected by light pollution.
At the end of the meeting, teachers and students thanked for the presentation and expressed their wish for further cooperation in the direction of solving problematic issues of improving the environmental situation in Ukraine. In turn, Mykyta Mykolaiovych noted that if among the students there are those interested in doing scientific work, then he will gladly act as a scientific consultant, but his main requirement in scientific cooperation with students is the study of English.
