Round table at the Design Department

A meeting with stakeholders took place at the Design Department of the Institute of Commerce, Serving Technologies and Tourism. 

On April 7, 2021,the Design Department held a meeting with stakeholders as part of the online round table. The event was attended by guarantors of educational programs, teachers, potential employers, practicing specialists, applicants for the first (bachelor’s) and second (master’s) levels of higher education of the Design Department. At the meeting, a discussion of the educational and professional program “Design of hairstyles and the art of make-up” of the first (bachelor’s) level of higher education in the field of knowledge 02 Culture and Arts, specialty 022 Design was held. The group of stakeholders consisted of representatives of beauty salons and beauty centers of the Luhansk region: Anna Ukraintseva, Studio AUˮ, Starobilsk city; Olena Storozhenko salon “Olena”, Svatovo city; Lidia Shkurenko salon “Yin-Yang”, Starobelsk city, Iryna Padylo “Sofilenˮ Severodonetsk city.

The participants of the round table discussed the problems of professional development of a specialist in hairstyle design and the art of visage, taking into account current trends in the labor market.

During the discussion, recommendations and suggestions were taken to improve the organization of the educational process of training applicants for the educational and professional program “Hair Design and the Art of Make-up” of the first (bachelor’s) level. It was proposed to include the ethics of communication with the client in the discipline “Organization of Work of Beauty Salons”; in the disciplines related to technology, include the presentation of the results of professional activities in the form of a portfolio and the implementation of the promotion of a design product in social networks.

The Design Department looks forward to new meetings and further cooperation with stakeholders.
