Participation in the Empowering Youth Hackathon

From April 1 to April 4, the ER IPMIT students took part in “Garage48 Empowering Youth Ukraine Online Hackathon”.
With the assistance of the Head of the ITS Department Mykola Semenov, students majoring in Software Engineering (Institute of Physics, Mathematics and Information Technologies) Natalia Lemish, Vladislav Krotkyh, Dmytro Klopov, Danylo Kiryushin, Pavlo Shadrin, Mykyta Borodin, Oleksii Nelepa took part in “Garage48 Empowering Youth Ukraine – Online Hackathon”, hosted by Garage48 and YEP! with the support of the Estonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs through the Development and Humanitarian Aid Fund.
Since 2012, when Garage48 first held a hackathon in Ukraine, its participants can offer new creative solutions, persistently and tirelessly work to achieve their goals and improve the lives of themselves and those around them.
In 2021, the hackathon was exclusively online, and the working language was English. From February 5 to March 28, registration and presentation of ideas and teams were held, and from April 1 to April 4, participants took part in the so-called checkpoints, intermediate stages.
At the first stage, the presentation of teams, ideas and plans took place, then the teams worked with mentors, rehearsed pitches, took part in webinars. The hackathon ended with the teams performing live on Facebook and awarding the winners.
This year, the participants received a unique experience of team interaction, established contacts with students from other educational institutions.
