30.10.2015
Faculty of Foreign Languages conducted Open Day on October 28.
Meeting program included speech of the dean, teachers and heads of departments about admission and education in 2016, presentation of teaching methods at the faculty.
The first meeting of the Club of Eastern and Roman-Germanic Languages was held. The pupils of Poltava school No. 13 came to meet with the representatives of faculty.
Ivan Mykhailovych Karpenko took the first word. He noted that faculty transfer to Poltava gives the applicants a possibility to study foreign languages: both European and Eastern. Poltava universities provide only English.
“Admission 2016 is the base for future life and development of faculty and university. We consider Poltavshchyna where our university has moved to as a very promising sphere of activity because there are almost no competitors in training of foreign language teachers and translators. We hope that applicants and their parents will be interested in our educational service. We are looking forward to seeing them at our faculty”, – told Ivan Mykhailovych.
This speech inspired the pupils and proved the right faculty choice. Then came presentations of the Heads of Department of Eastern Languages and Roman-Germanic Languages – Iryna Mykolaivna Nariadna and Svitlana Oleksandrivna Shekhavtsova. They told about languages studied at the faculty and about the possibilities of future development and employment after graduation.
The subject of Club meeting was “International Cuisine” and student presented information on famous dishes of countries whose languages they study. They cooked the dishes to present together with their stories: paella from Spain, fried banana from China or national Irish potato dish. Everybody was enjoying the stories about traditions in different countries and then tasted the dishes.
10 grade pupil of Poltava school No. 13, Lada Lenska shared her impressions: “I really liked it! I did not know the facts students were talking about. I did not know that your university has moved here but now I will have this in my mind. Very good impression”.
