Activities of the Public Reception of the ER ICSTT

On March 23, the first meeting of the Public Reception Office of the ER ICSTT on consumer rights issues was held online on the Microsoft Teams platform.

The main tasks that the Public Reception Office sets for itself at the first stage of its activities have been identified. The meeting was attended by the first-second year higher education applicants of the ER ICSTT and leading specialists of the NGO “Research Center “Independent Expertise”.

In modern education, one of the most important stages in the system of professional training of specialists is the practical component, the purpose of which is to bring the learning process as close as possible to practice and familiarize education seekers with all the intricacies of future professional activities, in the formation of practical professional competence and readiness to solve diverse professional tasks. For this purpose, during the meeting, consideration of the appeal for help to the consumer who purchased women’s winter shoes of inadequate quality took place. At the meeting, a detailed review and analysis of the situation related to violation of consumer rights was clearly carried out. During the short-term operation of the shoe, operational and latent manufacturing defects appeared. This led to a change in the appearance and functional properties of the purchased product.

Those present were given the task to develop proposals for solving this situation: to advise the consumer on her rights and further actions and to prepare a statement (appeal) to the business entity to solve the problem.

The public reception of the ER ICSTT on consumer rights issues was founded on March 15, 2021 and aims to protect the interests of consumers and provide the necessary skills and abilities to recognize goods and services of inadequate quality. All interested teachers and students of the university are invited to contact the ER ICSTT and join the work of the Public Reception.
