Online meetings with stakeholders at Faculty of Foreign Languages.

From February to March 2021, the Faculty of Foreign Languages ​​hosted online meetings with stakeholders to discuss the content and results of learning activities in educational programs: 014. The event was attended by guarantors of educational programs of the Faculty of Foreign Languages: Dean of the Faculty Svitlana Shekhavtsova – guarantor of the educational program 014. During the meetings, the guarantors of the programs together with school teachers, principals, as well as future entrants determined the prospects for the development of educational activities of higher educational institutions. The results of educational programs of the Faculty of Foreign Languages ​​in all specialties were also discussed. Stakeholders were interested in educational technologies for the formation of foreign language competences during the educational process in quarantine. The guarantors of the EP informed the stakeholders about the full-fledged educational process, which is carried out using the Microsoft Teams platform, a remote platform of European countries. The efficiency, productivity and positive side of using Microsoft Teams were noted.

In addition, the features of educational programs in all specialties, their content, goals and educational components were presented. In the course of speeches and active discussion of educational programs it was noted about their rather high potential, about the diversity and purposefulness in accordance with the field, about the training of specialists and teachers with universal basic knowledge. It was emphasized that graduates of the Faculty of Foreign Languages ​​receive professionally oriented competencies and after receiving diplomas become real specialists in their field. At the same time, employers noted the need to acquire competence in the use of modern technologies that shape the critical thinking of future teachers, and professionals who would form the information culture of future teachers with avoiding information and psychological impact on the subconscious of young media. Therefore, it necessitates the use of various technologies in the educational process of higher educational institutions for the formation of critical thinking and Soft Skills of future foreign language teachers and translation specialists, as well as the introduction of protective mechanisms for information and psychological impact of the media.

Guarantors of educational programs have been very attentive to the recommendations of stakeholders, as stakeholders from Luhansk and Donetsk regions provide relevant information on the needs of a modern society, so guarantors of educational programs assured that they will make changes in the educational process in accordance with the proposals, improving the quality of education at the Faculty of Foreign Languages. During the discussion, a wide range of issues related to the quality of training and employment of graduates was considered. Moreover, the guarantors of the educational programs invited the stakeholders to take part in a public anonymous survey of employers on the quality of education at Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University, in particular at the Faculty of Foreign Languages, which is posted on the university’s website.

The meetings were interesting, fruitful and productive and were useful for guarantors of educational programs, university teachers, teachers, management of general educational institutions, as well as for future entrants and stakeholders. The information collected during the discussion (feedbacks, suggestions from participants) will serve as a basis for improving the content and quality of training of higher education students in the educational and professional programs of the Faculty of Foreign Languages ​​at Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University.
