Training with students

The Department of Pedagogy conducted a training with second-year students majoring in Secondary Education. (Physical Culture) as part of the Days of Science. 

On March 23, the training “Emotional Intelligence and Emotional Culture of a Teacher” was organized for higher education applicants for the first (bachelor’s) level of the Educational and Research Institute of Physical Culture and Sports. The purpose of the event was to help future teachers to reveal the potential of their inner strength, energy and creativity; learn to manage emotions; develop emotional competence. Inna Kurlishchuk, Associate Professor of the Department of Pedagogy, was the leader of the training.

Nowadays, the emotional sphere, the culture of feelings occupies a significant place in the structure of professional self-improvement and successful self-realization of a teacher. Special attention on the part of scientists is focused on emotional intelligence as the basis of professional and individual success. Despite this, an important condition for the productive professional self-determination of applicants for higher education in pedagogical specialties is a developed emotional sphere of the individual, a high level of emotional intelligence and culture. They determine the productivity of the teacher’s activity, the level of creative potential and help the specialist to adequately respond to the pedagogical reality, achieving the optimal and successful solution of professional problems.

During the training, the participants discussed the issues of a person’s ability to recognize their own emotions and exercise control over them, the importance of the ability to correctly perceive the emotions of other people, build interpersonal interaction taking them into account, bypassing conflicts and stressful situations, and develop self-motivation readiness for creative pedagogical activity. A complex of exercises and training tasks allowed future teachers to understand the nature of not only their emotions, but also to understand the most common emotional experiences of students, to gain useful practical skills in using various methods of managing them.
