Continuation of the Spartakiad

The second round of volleyball competitions among the first-fourth year students took place at the Institute of Physical Education and Sports. 

After a long break due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Spartakiad of the Educational and Research Institute of Physical Education and Sports, dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the State Institution “Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University” was conntinued.

The second round of volleyball competitions among the first-fourth year students took place in the gym of the institute.

Teams of the second, third and fourth-year students met with freshmen majoring in “Physical Therapy, Ergotherapy”, “Secondary Education. Physical Culture” and “Physical Culture and Sports”.

According to the results of the competition, the first place was won by the combined team of the second-year students with 12 points, the second place was shared between the combined team of the third-year studens and the team of the first-year students majoring in “Physical Culture and Sports. Sports” by 9 points, the third place was taken by the combined team of the fourth-year students – 6 points.

The third round will take place at the end of March, during which fierce fights are expected for victory in the Spartakiad and for the title of the best volleyball team of the 2020-2021 academic year in classic volleyball.

The chief arbiter of the competition was Oleksandr Hadiuchko, the chief secretary was Maksym Kovalov, the secretary was Viktoria Volodina.

Also, in the interval between the test fights among students, a friendly match was held between the the second-year students’ team and the teachers of the Institute of Physical Education and Sports consisted of the Director of the Institute Oleksandr Dubovoi, Deputy Director Pavlo Hordienko, teachers of the Department of Olympic and Professional Sports Maksym Kovalov, Yurii Dembovskyi, Volodymyr Dubovoi and Oleksandr Hadiuchko, as well as a teacher of the Department of Theory and Methods of Physical Education Dmytro Pelypas and a senior laboratory assistant of the department Lina Bugaiova.

Experience and prudence nevertheless won out against youth and liveliness, in general, the team of the institute’s teachers won 2-0 in games!
