Competition for expressive reading of Shevchenko’s poems

A traditional competition for expressive reading of Shevchenko’s poems was held at Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University.

This competition continued the program of events of the traditional Shevchenko week on the occasion of the 207th anniversary of Taras Shevchenko’s birth and the 100th anniversary of the State Institution “Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University”.

The competition was attended by higher education applicants of the Educational and Research Institute of Pedagogy and Psychology; the Educational and Research Institute of Culture and Arts; Starobilsk Humanitarian and Pedagogical College; Lysychansk and Kadiivka Pedagogical Colleges, and the College of LTSNU. 

This year, due to quarantine restrictions, the competition was held remotely. The participants had to submit to the jury a video recording of the performance of Taras Shevchenko’s poetry lasting no more than 2 minutes.

The competition was assessed by a competent jury, which included the Dean of the Faculty of Ukrainian Philology and Social Communications Tetiana Pinchuk; Head of the Department of Ukrainian Literature Olena Lapko; Associate Professor of the Department of Ukrainian Literature Iryna Boitsun; the winner of this competition in 2019 – third-year student of the Faculty of Ukrainian Philology and Social Communications Nina Soroka.
