Online marathon for educators

Teachers of the Department of Pedagogy of the ER IPP took part in the marathon “Tolerant Education is the Key to a Healthy Society”.

On World Day without Discrimination, March 1, a five-day online marathon for educators initiated by the Community of Active Teachers “Vseosvita” has started.

The purpose of the event: to motivate teachers to integrate various forms of upbringing a tolerant attitude towards others into the educational process; to expand the knowledge and understanding of human rights; to give teachers the tools to create an educational environment in an educational institution where everyone will feel equal, valuable and protected; identify the main obstacles in building a tolerant educational environment and teach teachers to find effective ways to prevent and resolve conflict situations based on unjustified hatred of representatives of various social, ethnic, age, religious groups, etc.

During the marathon, 13 speakers spoke on 7 topics that covered various types of discrimination. Particular attention of the participants of the online event was focused on the need to foster a tolerant attitude towards each person in society, regardless of race, nationality, religion, sexual orientation, physical and cognitive capabilities, views and preferences. In particular, the UN Tolerance Ambassador Larisa Denisenko; coordinator of the All-Ukrainian educational program “Understanding Human Rights” Serhii Burov; Head of the Department of Philosophy and History of Religion at the Institute of Philosophy, Doctor of Philosophy, Professor Liudmyla Fylypovych; historian, public figure, political scientist , Head of the Monitoring Group for the Rights of National Minorities Viacheslav Likhachov; Ph.D. in Psychology, trainer of the NGO “Pivot Point UAˮ, lecturer at the University of Education Management” Maryna Didenko; founder of the NGO “See with Heart” Olesia Yaskevych; expert on countering stigma and discrimination related to HIV and the development of social services in the field of public health Oleksandra Vinogradova; Candidate of Psychological Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Psychology of the Drahomanov National Pedagogical University; co-founder of the NGO “Institute of Contemporary Psychoconsulting” Ilona Rashkovska and others.
