Scientific seminar on algebra

An online scientific seminar on algebra was held at Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University.

On February 25, a scientific online seminar on algebra was held at the Department of Algebra and Systems Analysis of the State Institution “Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University”. The event was dedicated to topical issues of modern algebra.

The head of the department, Professor Anatolii Zhuchok, in his welcoming speech, noted that the seminar was attended not only by teachers of the department, postgraduate students and master’s students, but also invited students and teachers of the Lysychansk Multidisciplinary Gymnasium, who cooperate with our department in the framework of projects of the Small Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. He emphasized the particular relevance of the issues that will be considered at the seminar, and invited students of the 11th grade of the gymnasium to go to study at our university. Then Anatolii Zhuchok made a scientific report “Relatively free dimonoids and bar-units”. The speaker talked about how the concept of “dimonoid” appeared in algebra and described the problem that was solved. Also a 4th year student of the specialty “Secondary Education. Maths. Physics” Yevgen Zhidkov is the winner of the 1st round of the All-Ukrainian competition of student research papers in the field of knowledge” Mathematics and Statistics. Applied Mathematics (Mechanics)”, which presented his scientific work “About One Class of Trioids”. The student told about the history of the problem, which the work is devoted to, the result obtained and its implementation. Professor of the Department Yurii Zhuchok noted the need to add examples of the implementation of the main result given in the work of Yevgen Zhidkov. During the seminar, the senior lecturer of the department Olena Toichkina also spoke, who noted it expedient to shorten the introductory part of the report by Yevgen Zhidkov.

The guests got good impressions from the seminar, in particular, the teacher of mathematics Olena Konovalova expressed her gratitude to the organizers. The next meeting of the scientific seminar on algebra is scheduled for March. We invite all students, mater’s students, postgraduates of the ER IPMIT and others to participate.
