Opening of the School of Academic Integrity

The School of Academic Integrity was opened at Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University.

Academic integrity in the modern world is an integral part of ensuring the quality of education. Compliance with its principles during training and teaching affects not only the quality of education, but also the formation of the basic values ​​of graduates and their ideas about the world, society, success, work, etc.

In the appendix to the Regulation on the accreditation of educational programs, according to which the training of applicants for higher education is carried out, approved by order of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine No. 977 dated July 11, 2019, the Criteria for assessing the quality of the educational program are submitted. The subcriterion 5.4 concerns ensuring academic integrity in the implementation of the EP. It provides for the implementation of activities to promote academic integrity among teachers and applicants for higher education.

Today, February 9, 2021, the School of Academic Integrity was opened at Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University. The event was attended by the Rector of the University Serhii Savchenko, Vice-Rectors for Scientific and Pedagogical Work Oleksandr Meniailenko and Leonid Vakhovskyi, Acting Head of the Department of Postgraduate Studies Oksana Dudnik, Acting Head of the Department of Quality Management of Educational Activities Margarita Kravchenko. The meeting was moderated by Maria Pochinkova, Director of the Library of LTSNU. The head teacher of the school Tetiana Ulanovska provided detailed information on the functioning of the school.

The School of Academic Integrity is a joint project of the University Library, the Department of Graduate Studies and Quality Management of Educational Activities. Its purpose is to popularize and explain the principles of academic integrity.

The project provides for 6 hours of lectures and 6 hours of workshops. Upon completion, participants will receive certificates. As part of the quarantine measures, the school will operate online. The training will be conducted in groups of no more than 12 people.
