Online conference with graduates

Representatives of the ER IPMIT held an online conference with graduates of general secondary education institutions of Lysychansk city as part of the Year of Mathematical Education in Ukraine.

According to the Decree of the President of Ukraine 31/2020 dated 30.01.2020, the 2020-2021 academic year is declared the Year of Mathematical Education in Ukraine. With the assistance of the Lysychansk Methodological Center represented by Olena Dovgopola, a joint online conference was held with the teachers of the Institute of Physics, Mathematics and Information Technologies of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University and students-graduates of institutions of general secondary education of Lysychansk city. 

The purpose of the event is to facilitate the organization of educational work and popularize the image of specialties, the mastering of which requires obtaining a mathematical education.

Teachers of the ER IPMIT, namely Olena Toichkina – Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences; Natalia Vasilenko – Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Associate Professor; Volodymyr Matievskyi – Deputy Director for Social and Humanitarian Work.

They talked about what modern mathematics is and what mathematicians do, provided examples of how we use mathematical results in modern life. They gave interesting facts about mathematics and physics. We talked about the features of the 2021 admission campaign for admission to the specialty “Secondary Education. Mathematics. Physics.”
