The public organization “Ukrainian Society of Commodities and Technologists” of the ER ICSTT resumed its work.

On January 27, 2021, the public organization “Ukrainian Society of Commodities and Technologists” (PO “USCTˮ) of the Educational and Research Institute of Commerce, Serving Technologies and Tourism of LuhanskTaras Shevchenko National University resumed its work and held a meeting.

The following issues were considered on the agenda of the general meeting:

• Re-election of the heads (chairman and secretary) of the PO “USCTˮ department of the Educational and Research Institute of Commerce, Serving Technologies and Tourism of LTSNU.
• Approval of the Regulations on the Register of Individual Members of the PO “USCTˮ of the Educational and Research Institute of Trade, Service Technologies and Tourism of LTSNU.
• Acceptance of new members in the public organization “USCT”.
• Popularization of the activities of public organization “USCTˮ in the social network Facebook. Filling the page with news.

The chairman of the organization was unanimously elected Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor of the Department of Commodity Research, Commercial Business and Goods Expertise of the ER ICSTT Iraida Dudla, Natalia Bykadorova was elected the executive secretary.

For many years, the public organization “USCT” was a member of the International Society of Commodity Science and Technology (IGWT), which for the past 40 years has invited professional scientists from all over the world to international symposia every two years. The work of the delegates of the scientific event was focused on the consideration of the actual directions of the development of commodity science in the modern world: cyclical economy; economic performance; distribution economy; joint consumption; product as a service; product service systems; industrial symbiosis; technological innovation for sustainable production; climate change and energy production and consumption; corporate environmental management; environmental certification and eco-labeling; tools and criteria for assessing environmental impact; waste management; corporate social responsibility and business ethics; sustainable tourism and cultural heritage; food quality and safety; operations, logistics and quality management; commodity science, technology and chemistry; customer satisfaction and consumer protection; achievements and challenges for merchandising; economic and marketing aspects in commodity science.

Scientists from Italy, Austria, Germany, Ukraine, Bulgaria, Romania, Slovakia, Nigeria, Algeria, Israel, China and other states constantly take part in the symposium.

In 2018, the XXI International Symposium of Commodity Specialists and Technologists was held. The scientific event was held in the historical homeland of commodity science – in Italy. In 1549, the first Department of Commodity Science in the vastness of the old world was created at the University of Padua (Padua, Italy), almost 470 years ago. This is evidence that commodity science is a science with an ancient history, deep traditions, powerful scientific groundwork and perspective.

The 2018 symposium has become a landmark for the entire international community of commodity experts. Epoch-making changes have taken place at IGWT. At the meeting of the General Assembly, delegates of national associations decided to dissolve IGWT with its headquarters in Vienna (Austria). The delegates approved a new international organization: the International Association of Commodity Science, Innovation and Sustainability. Thus, IACSIS, headquartered in Rome (Italy), became the successor to IGWT.

The President of the PO “USCT” Natalia Prytulska – an authorized delegate from Ukraine, as well as delegates from other member countries of the association, signed the corresponding Charter on the establishment of IACSIS.

The participation of our teachers in the activities of the  public organization “USCTˮ and the dissemination of our educational, scientific and professional successes not only in Ukraine, but also at the international level within IACSIS, expands our capabilities, contributes to the integration of our educational institution into the world educational and scientific space, provides internationalization of the activities of the educational and scientific institute of trade, service technologies and tourism of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University.
