Teachers of the Department of Tourism, Hotel and Restaurant Business of the ER ICSTT are actively engaged in scientific work.

In August 2020, the Department of Tourism, Hotel and Restaurant Business approved a work plan, where the main directions are the presentation of the department in scientific events of various levels and the strengthening of professional and practical training of students in accordance with modern requirements in the market of services.

With the beginning of the academic year, the teachers of the department took part in:

• II International Scientific and Practical Conference “THE WORLD OF SCIENCE AND INNOVATION” (September 16-18, 2020; London, UK);
• II International Scientific and Practical Conference “Entrepreneurship, Trade: Theoretical Approaches and Practical Aspects of Development” (November 26-27, Starobilsk, 2020);
• II International Scientific and Practical Conference “EUROPEAN SCIENTIFIC DISCUSSIONS” (December 26-28; Rome, Italy).

Participants of the conferences received certificates of participation and published the results of their research in the conference proceedings.

A convincing example of the effective work of the teachers of the department with students was the victory of Valeria Bykadorova, a first-year student majoring in 242 “Tourism”, in the International Scientific and Educational Olympiad in Tourism (December 02-06, 2020, Dnipro).

The organizer of the event was the Department of Tourism and Economics of the Enterprise of the National Technical University “Dnipro Polytechnic”. The Olympiad was aimed at increasing the interest of schoolchildren, students, teachers and other interested persons in the theoretical and applied aspects of tourism. The tasks of the Olympiad consisted of three blocks: the first – a complete and detailed answer to three theoretical questions; the second is the solution of a case on a given topic; the third is a creative task (development of a logo for a travel agency). Based on the results, Valeria Bykadorova successfully coped with all the tasks and took the honorable II place among 148 participants of the Olympiad.

We are proud of Valeria and wish you new achievements and victories on the way of our professional and practical training.

Scientific and pedagogical workers of the Department of Tourism, Hotel and Restaurant Business do not stop there and are already working on new projects to effectively attract applicants for education to scientific work. The first impressions of Ukraine and the support of its positive image depend on specialists in tourism and hotel and restaurant management.
