They won bronze medals

The section “Famous Athletes – Students of the Educational and Research Institute of Physical Education and Sports” is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University.
In the section “Retro Sports” – XXIX Olympic Games 2008 in Beijing (China).
Viktoria Tereshchuk won a bronze Olympic medal in such a complex sport as modern pentathlon. In pistol shooting, Viktoria showed 17th place, in fencing and swimming – 5th place, in horse riding – 21st place, and in 3000m running – the second result. As a result – III place and a bronze medal of the Olympics. The silver medal was won by Heather Fell (Great Britain), and the gold – by the athlete from Germany Lena Schöneborn.
Viktoria is a participant in three Olympiads (2004, 2008, 2012). She is Honored Master of Sports of Ukraine, silver medalist of the 2006 World Championship (Guatemala), European Champion 2008 (Moscow), World Champion 2011 (Moscow). She was awarded the insignia of the President of Ukraine, the Order of Princess Olga II and III degrees.
Our student, gymnast Oleksandr Vorobyov also received a bronze medal in his favorite all-around event – exercises on the rings. Gold in this discipline was won by Chen Yibing (China), silver was also won by Wei Yang (China).
Oleksandr is Honored Master of Sports of Ukraine, World Cup silver medalist (2006), Ukrainian Champion (2007), Ukrainian Cup winner (2007), European Champion (2007), World Champion (2008), World Cup winner (2008), silver medalist of the European Championship (2009), bronze medalist of the World Championship (2009).
He was awarded with state awards of Ukraine: the medal “For Labor and Valor” and the Order “For Courage” III degree.
