Methodological seminar

A methodological seminar was held by the Ukrainian Language Department.

On December 23, the Department of the Ukrainian Language held a methodological seminar “Roadmap of the Educational Activity of the Department at the Present Stage”. 

The purpose of the seminar was to discuss topical issues of the educational activities of the department and develop promising areas of work to ensure the quality of the educational process in accordance with the provisions of the current educational and professional programs as well as curricula.

Holding such a seminar is due to the need to monitor the progress of the educational process in modern conditions, to analyze the effectiveness of the implemented forms, types, teaching aids, methods, techniques, technologies of linguistic and methodological education, as well as the development of Ukrainian pedagogical and linguodidactic terminology.

The following questions were chosen for discussion: “Directions of work in the educational activities of the Department of the Ukrainian language: the results of implementation and the prospect of implementation” (Prof. A. V. Nikitina); “Features of the implementation of the educational process in modern conditions: the normative aspect” (Assoc. M.V. Kravchenko); “Linguistic practice of using professional terminology” (senior teacher N.M. Karlova), “Development of students’ creativity as a factor in improving the quality of education” (Assistant Professor G.K. Barylova), “Ways of developing the research competence of applicants for education” (Assistant Professor O.Ye. Kleshova).

The participants of the seminar paid special attention to the analysis of urgent problems of planning educational activities and ways to improve the quality of the educational process. Participants were interested in the analysis of the normativeness of professional speech and the practice of using modern linguodidactic terminology by specialists, ways of increasing the effectiveness of technologies for linguistic and methodological education of future language teachers.

The result of the seminar was the definition in the roadmap of the educational activities of the department at the present stage of such areas as the formation of professional competence of applicants for education; self-development and self-improvement of the teaching staff of the department; the relationship of all persons interested in the educational process.

The priority principles of the department’s work were determined as follows: competence-based education of the future teacher-language and literature teacher; strategic certainty and conditionality of educational activities; compliance of the quality of the department staff with the requirements of the modern educational process.
