Report of the Student Self-Government

An online meeting of the Student Self-Government was held at the Educational and Research Institute of Economics and Business.
On December 23, a meeting of students and a report of student self-government on the work done was held at the Educational and Research Institute of Economics and Business.
An important role in the work of the Educational and Research Institute of Economics and Business is played by student self-government – an association of student youth, which includes several sectors. Representatives of each sector are responsible for a specific area of work.
Traditionally, at the end of the semester, the student self-government reports to the students about the work done, the problems that arose and the prospects for further development. Due to quarantine restrictions, the student youth meeting was held using the Teams online platform.
At the beginning of the meeting, the participants were congratulated by Deputy Director for Social and Humanitarian Work Oleg Chernysh and Deputy Director for Academic Affairs Anna Bairachna. They thanked the students for their active work during the academic semester and expressed their hope for further fruitful work.
The chairman of the student self-government of the Institute Maksym Ukrainskyi, addressed the audience. He introduced the students to the purpose, directions and main tasks of the self-government in the 2020-2021 academic year. Maksym also spoke about the prospects for student self-government activities in the future.
After that, the heads of each sector of student self-government of the Educational and Research Institute of Economics and Business represented their reports. So, the chairman of the cultural sector Yelyzaveta Bezpala spoke about the events in which students took part in the first half of the 2020-2021 academic year. The main cultural event for young people within the framework of the quarantine was the celebration of the initiation of freshmen into students.
Maria Soloshenko, head of the art sector, made a presentation on the main areas of activity. So, the students prepared several posters and compositions in half a year.
The head of the Social Sector Anastasia Sobol introduced the audience to the charity events, which were joined by the students of the institute. Thus, the students took part in the events dedicated to the World Smile Day, World AIDS Day, and also congratulated the children on the Day of St. Nicholas.
Next, Maryna Sergienko, head of the Press Sector of Student Self-Government, spoke. Thus, through the efforts of members of the sector, several vocational guidance videos were prepared, the institute’s pages on social networks are regularly updated, and Maryna also outlined the areas of work for the next year.
Representatives of the scientific sector of student government told about the conferences, which were attended by students of the Educational and Research Institute of Economics and Business. But at the same time, there are a number of problems in the sector that require immediate solutions.
On the whole, the work of the Student Self-Government was found to be satisfactory. The student youth asked questions and summed up that only joint efforts can be successful.
