Visit of honored guests

Representatives of Tunisia and the Public Organization “Ukrainian Initiative” have visited Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University.
On December 19, 2020, on the initiative of the Educational and Research Institute of Commerce, Serving Technologies and Tourism, representatives of Tunisia and the Public Organization “Ukrainian Initiative” paid an official visit to the State Institution “Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University”. The delegation included the head of the Tunisian diaspora in Ukraine, the official representative of Tunisia in the city of Odesa, consultant to the head of the Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Tarek Al-Auv; the chairman of the board of the NGO “Ukrainian Initiative” Yurii Kosenko, the head of the NGO “Ukrainian Initiative” in the Luhansk region Oleh Yakubov.
The university representatives were the Rector Serhii Savchenko and the Director of the Institute of Commerce, Serving Technologies and Tourism Viktor Drel.
During the meeting, the issue of inviting applicants from Tunisia to study at the university was discussed, the possibilities and conditions for university students to undergo internships in Tunisian educational institutions, trade and tourism businesses (hotels, travel companies, etc.)
At the end of the meeting with the Rector of the University, the teacher of the Department of Tourism, Hotel and Restaurant Business Yana Moroz conducted an excursion around the educational institution for the honored guests. The visitors saw the modern classrooms-laboratories for training specialists, museums, information resource center “Window on America”. The dormitories were of particular interest to the Head of the Diaspora of Tunisia. Tarek Al-Auv was pleased with what he saw and noted that the university has all the necessary conditions for high-quality education of foreign students.
A separate landmark event of the official visit was the grand opening of a memorial plaque to the poet, philosopher, politician, public figure and spiritual father of Pakistan – Mahammad Iqbalu. During the grand opening of the memorial sign, the chairman of the board of the NGO “Ukrainian Initiative” Yurii Kosenko expressed hope for a long and fruitful cooperation in education, science and culture between the university and representatives of Tunisia and Pakistan in Ukraine.
The visit to the educational institution ended with a meeting of the honored guests with university scientists. Liudmyla Senogonova, Ph.D., Associate Professor, Head of the Department of Commodity Research, Commercial Business and Goods Expertise, presented the scientific development “Products for special dietary consumption (for athletes)” and presented samples of products – sweets “Impulse Energy”, “The secret of power”, “Triumph”, which act as a special balanced food product for athletes, which contains substances of energetic, antioxidant, biostimulating and adaptogenic action.
Associate Professor of the Department of Production Technologies and Vocational Education, Candidate of Technical Sciences, Dmytro Kramarenko made a presentation on the topic “Prospective ways of creating products for therapeutic and prophylactic purposes using derivatives of hydrobionts”. At the end of the speech, the guests were able to learn about the result of scientific research – flour products made with the use of shellfish hydrolyzate. According to the speaker, this type of product solves the problem of regulating the food ration and organizing preventive nutrition for “ecologically conditioned” occupational and non-infectious diseases.
The members of the delegation headed by Tarek Al-Auv were interested in the presented scientific works, it was expressed a wish to get acquainted with the scientific achievements in more detail and consider in the future their application in the food industry of Tunisia and Pakistan.
As a result of the meeting, the parties agreed to develop and sign a memorandum of cooperation in a wide range of cooperation areas.
